Important note
This listing is for the car kit without the micro:bit main board. A micro:bit board is required separately to run the car.
Wiring and code
Insert the micro:bit board into the slot of the V2 shield, place batteries in the holder, and dial the power switch to ON. Program it in the online MakeCode editor, adding the turtle-bit extension first. The motor driver shield uses PCA9685 and TB6612 chips to drive two DC gear motors. Check the direction of the eight jumper caps before running, as they set the motor rotation direction to match the code.
Line tracking: the V2 expansion board carries two TCRT5000 line tracking sensors, left and right controlled by P12 and P13. White ground reflects IR and reads low (0); black line reads high (1). Adjust the potentiometers on the shield for sensitivity. In MakeCode, the car is driven with turtle-bit blocks such as car run forward, turn left/right, left-side and right-side motor control, and car stop, at a speed percentage.
